Obituary Notes: "Paris Ann Pingel, 62, of Tomah passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Sparta.
She was born June 1, 1951, to William and Geneva (Felt) Smith in La Crosse. She was united in marriage to Marvin Pingel Nov. 5, 1983, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. Together they lived in the Tunnel City area for five years before moving to Warrens, where they lived for eight years. They later moved back to Tunnel City area where they have resided since. Paris loved country music, flowers and crafts. She was known for her garland decorated Christmas trees. She enjoyed watching Nascar, especially Carl Edward #99. She collected anything with roosters and angels. Paris loved to take pictures in her spare time. Paris was close to her family and very trustworthy to the Lord. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul’s since 1984.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin of Tomah; her special little puppy, Willy; her brothers, Billy (Kathy) Smith, Kerry (Debbie) Smith, Robert Smith; and sisters, Rosemary (Lynden) Vatland, Janice Phillips (friend, John), Janet (Roland) Washburn and Darleen (Randy) LeJeune; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Shirley, Steven and Roger; and her best friend and nephew, Bryan.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, at the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah. Pastor David Brandt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah.
Family and friends are invited for visitation from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, at the Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church."
