123. Lorna Marie SCHUEMAN was born on 10 October 1910 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.15,109,230 She died on 10 April 2011 at the age of 100 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.230

Obituary Notes: "Lorna Marie Pingel, 100, of Tomah, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday April 10, 2011, at the Tomah Health Care Center. She was born in the town of LaGrange, Monroe County, the daughter of John C. and Carolina (Behrens) Schueman on Oct. 10, 1910. On Nov. 13, 1910, she was baptized and was confirmed in the faith of the Holy Christian Church by Pastor John G. Glaeser on April 6, 1924. Lorna was a lifelong, faithful and God-fearing member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tomah, and we have the assurance she remained in the true faith in Jesus the Savior, in his atoning sacrifice, and Jesus’ glorious resurrection.

In her early years she attended the Benjaminville School and then St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran School. She was a graduate of Tomah High School Class of 1932. Lorna was united in marriage to Walter Raymond Pingel in St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church in Tomah by the newly installed pastor, Herbert E. Schaller, on Oct. 22, 1933. In October 1983 they were privileged to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends. She was a member of St. Paul Mission Circle, and Lorna also spent many years in the civil service at the Tomah VAMC. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading, scrap -booking and writing. Her caring love for the Lord Jesus and for her dear family and grandchildren were her daily concern.

She is survived by one daughter; Jeanette (Marvin) Laack; three sons, Morris (Gloria), Marvin (Parry) and Mark (Linda); six grandsons, John Massey of Madison, Eric Massey of Hollandale, Steven (Tracy) Massey of Oregon, Jay Massey of Hollandale, Kevin (Heidi) Massey of Eau Claire, and Daniel (Louann) Pingel of Menomonee Falls; six granddaughters Mary Ellen (Daniel) Woggon of Camp Douglas, Susan (Greg) Styba of Beldenville, Lori Collies of Sun Prairie, Karen (Jeff) Rich of West Salem, Sarah (Greg) Johnson of Kentwood, Mich., and Rebecca Pingel of Wauwatosa; 18 great-grandchildren, Michelle, Sarah, Jacob, Nicolette and Lukus Woggon of Camp Douglas, Bradley and Heather Styba of Beldenville, Caitlin and Connor Collies of Sun Prairie, Claire and Owen Massey of Oregon, Erica, Raeann and Justine Rich of West Salem, Landon, Leanna and Laurel Massey of Eau Claire and Amalie Johnson of Kentwood; one stepgreat-grandchild, Christopher Pfuhl of Hollandale; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Preceding her in death besides her parents were her beloved husband, Walter, on Feb. 13, 1990; beloved daughter Norma Jean Massey on March 19, 2000; a stepgreat-grandchild, Joseph “Joey” Pfuhl on June 20, 2010; brother Ernest Schueman on April 19, 2000; sisters Edna Marten on June 17, 1936, Bertha Pingel on Sept. 6, 1992, and Doris Nyborg on Oct. 6, 2004; brother Henry Schueman Oct. 28, 2010; son-in-law, Dwight Massey on June 16, 1995.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 525 Superior Avenue, Tomah. Pastor Donald R. Buch will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Tomah.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of the service.

Memorials in memory of Lorna may be given to St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church or the WELS World Missions."

Lorna Marie SCHUEMAN and Walter Raymond PINGEL were married on 22 October 1933 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.15,119,229 Walter Raymond PINGEL, son of Johann Karl PINGEL and Minnie RUNIONS, was born on 4 March 1904 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.229 He appeared in the census in 1910 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.12 He appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.26 Walter appeared in the census in 1930 in Greenfield Township, Monroe County, WI.24 He died on 13 February 1990 at the age of 85.109,119 He was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.109 in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
