He appeared in the census in 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ Between 1901 and 1951 John was a Lutheran minister.¹¹ He died on 7 February 1947 at the age of 70.⁵⁶

Reverend Johann Friedrich "John" MITTELSTAEDT Jr. and Clara Adeline Amalie SIEGLER were married.¹¹ Clara Adeline Amalie SIEGLER, daughter of A. F. SIEGLER and Bertha HOGE, was born on 19 November 1876 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² She was baptized on 26 November 1876 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
