3. Johann Christoph "Christopher" MITTELSTAEDT¹⁷ was born on 20 December 1845 in Lukowo, Kreis Wongrowitz. Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,12,13,18 He was baptized on 25 December 1845.¹ His witnesses were Michael Schmalz and Caroline Andre. He emigrated on 4 July 1873 from Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁶ on the ship Hansa. They emigrated with his brother or cousin Gustav (age 18) and one other person. Their residence is listed a Lekno in the immigration records. Lekno is a village and manor farm about three miles south of Lukowo.

Johann's occupation was listed as "Mason" and no occupation was listed for Gustav. Christopher died on 2 September 1877 at the age of 31.^12,13,19,20 He was buried on 4 September 1877 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^12,13,21 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Johann Christoph "Christopher" MITTELSTAEDT and Maria "Mary" MUHLBRADT were married in 1872 in Gross Golle, Kreis Wongrowitz, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^18,19,22,23 Three children were born to this union, and she took them to America. Two of the children died at sea, so when she got to America she only had one daughter, Minnie. The children who passed away at sea were buried at sea.

(The modern name of Gross Golle in Poland is Golaszewo.) Maria "Mary" MUHLBRADT^17,18,19, daughter of Johann MUHLBRADT and Maria UNKNOWN (MUHLBRADT), was born on 14 February 1850 in Kreis Wongrowitz, Posen Province, Preussen (Prussia).^{12,19,24,25,26,27} (Her maiden name was listed as "Muehbradt" in the baptism record of her daughter Wilhelmine, as "Muhlbradt" for her daughters Marie and Auguste, as "Mullbrath" for her son August and her daughter Mathilde, and "Millbrath" for her daughters Emma and Emilie.) She emigrated in 1878 from Preussen (Prussia).⁸ She appeared in the census in 1880 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ Mary appeared in the census in 1900 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁸ She died on 5 September 1902 at the age of 52 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^19,24,27 She was buried on 7 September 1902 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^13,24,27 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery. (One source lists her surname as "Milbrath.")

She died on 21 September 1875 at the age of 0 in Emmrys Mill Township, Juneau County (??), WI.¹² (The St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Burial Record lists her place of death as "Emmrys Mill, Wis."). Caroline was buried on 23 September 1875.¹²
