38. Alma NEMITZ was born on 11 August 1919 in Knapp Township, Jackson County, WI.^13,21 (She was listed as "Elma" in the January 1920 Census, and her age was 5/12.) She appeared in the census in 1920 in Knapp Township, Jackson County, WI.⁶ She appeared in the census in 1930 in Knapp Township, Jackson County, WI.¹³ Alma died on 25 July 2007 at the age of 87 in Mission, Hidalgo County, TX.²¹

Obituary Notes: "Alma Nemitz Hellmich, age 87, formerly of Reedsburg and Tomah, died on Wednesday, July 25, 2007, at her home in Mission, TX. She was born on Aug. 11, 1919, in the Town of Knapp, Jackson County, WI, the daughter of Frederick and Louise (Wulf) Nemitz. On Sept. 25, 1940, she was married to Francis C. Hellmich. Together they operated the Hillside Orchard in Tomah for over 30 years. Alma was active with the Jack Pine Travelers and the Reedsburg Senior Serenaders for many years.

Survivors include three children: Janet Clemmerson of Mission, TX; Kathleen Condon, of Vancouver, WA, and Bruce Hellmich, of Madison; three grandchildren: Aaron Clemmerson, Kara Condon and Tami Condon; four great-grandchildren; one brother: Harry (Evelyn) Nemitz, of Eau Claire; two sisters: Esther McCollough, of Loves Park, IL, and Lucille Newcomb of Tomah; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis, on Feb. 26, 2003; four brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon on Saturday, July 28, at the Sonnenburg Family Funeral Home in Tomah with the Very Rev. Steven Kachel officiating. Interment will be in the LaGrange Cemetery in rural Tomah. There will be a visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

The Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg is serving the family."

She was buried on 28 July 2007 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ in the LaGrange Township Cemetery.

Alma NEMITZ and Francis C. HELLMICH were married on 25 September 1940.²¹ Francis C. HELLMICH, son of Carl HELLMICH and Rose KELLEY, was born on 6 August 1914 in St. Paul, St. Charles County, MN.²¹ He died on 26 February 2003 at the age of 88 in Reedsburg, Sauk County, WI.²¹ He was buried on 1 March 2003 in La Grange Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹ in the LaGrange Township Cemetery.
