Bertha Auguste NEMITZ and Gustave W. "Gus" GOETZKA Sr. were married on 4 April 1894 in Monroe County, WI.^1,2,7,8,24 (According to the 1900 Census, they had 4 children, of whom 3 were living at the time. According to the 1910, they had 10 children, of whom 8 were living.) (They were 1st cousins.)

GOETZKA and Mathilde BUNDE, was born on 29 April 1866 in Belgard, Belgard/Persante, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).⁷ He emigrated in 1884 from Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,6,23 Monroe County Heritage Book Article: "The whole family of boys (Charles, Alvin, Herman and Gustave) and sisters (Anna and Ottelia) came (to America). Enroute from Hamburg, Germany, they stopped in northern France. Gustave ... left the boat for sightseing and almost got left behind. The gangplank had to be relowered for him."

(The 1900 Census listed his emigration year as 1870 and indicated that he had been in America for 30 years; the 1910 and 1930 records listed it as 1884, which is believed to be correct.)

He appeared in the census in 1930 in Lincoln Township, Monroe County, WI.²³ Gus died on 21 October 1959 at the age of 93 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ He lived the last eight years of his life with his granddaughter, Evelyn Larrabee in Tomah. He was buried in Jackson County, WI.⁷ in the Knapp Cemetery.

Willie died on 18 December 1991 at the age of 92 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.²¹
