1. Karl Bogislov "Charles" AFFELDT was born on 7 September 1812 in Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,3,4 (He was listed as "Charles" in the 1870 Census.) He emigrated in 1865 from Preussen (Prussia).⁵ The 1900 Census indicates that his wife and children emigrated in 1865, so he most likely did, as well. He appeared in the census in 1870 in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.³ His surname was spelled "Affeld" and his household consisted of "Charles," age 60, occupation "Farmer;" his wife, Wilhelmine, age 56; and their children, Hermann, age 25; Wilhelmine, age 14; and Henry, age 10. Their birth places were listed as Prussia. Charles appeared in the census in 1880 in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.² He and his wife were living with their son Herman and his family. He was listed as "Charley." He died before June 1900 at the age of 87.⁵ His wife was a widow in the 1900 Census, so he died before June 1900.

Karl Bogislov "Charles" AFFELDT and Wilhelmine Friederike "Mina" WENDT were married in Preussen (Prussia).¹ Wilhelmine Friederike "Mina" WENDT was born on 14 January 1818 in Preussen (Prussia).^1,2,4 She emigrated in 1865 from Preussen (Prussia).⁵ She appeared in the census in 1870 in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.³ Mina appeared in the census in 1880 in Lebanon Township, Dodge County, WI.² She appeared in the census in 1900 in Fillmore Township, Fillmore County, MN.⁵ She was living with her son Herman and his family.
