Descendants of Edward Planter Doty (Doten)

Edward Planter Doty was one of the approximately 100 passengers on the voyage of the Mayflower from Plymouth, England, to Plymouth Colony, Massachusetts, in 1620.

He was not one of the Pilgrims that was escaping personal religious persecution. Rather, he was a 22-year-old servant to Stephen Hopkins, one of the "Strangers" who joined the Pilgrims to fill up the passenger load.

Edward was the 40th of the 42 signers of the Mayflower Compact.
