2242. Robert CROSS Sr. (*) was born on 26 January 1613 in Denham, Suffolk County, England. (He may have been born and baptized in Bury St. Edmonds.) He was baptized on 26 June 1613 in Denham, Suffolk County, England. He immigrated in 1634 to Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America. Immigrated to MA on the "Mary and John". Robert served in the military about 1638. He was a Soldier in the Pequot War. The Pequot War was a conflict between the Pequot tribe and English colonists in New England from 1636–1638. The war was caused by a series of incidents, including the murder of two English traders. The English won the war and nearly exterminated the Pequot.

The Pequot were a tribe centered on the Thames River in southeastern Connecticut. The English settlers came from the Massachusetts Bay, Connecticut, and Saybrook colonies. They also had Native American allies, including the Narragansett and Mohegan. The war was especially brutal. For example, in one battle, the English suffered 50% casualties within 20 minutes. In another battle, Mercenary John Mason targeted a fort where mainly women, children, and elders were living. He died on 8 February 1670 at the age of 57 in Ipswich, Essex County, Massachusetts Bay Colony, British Colonial America.
