2. Anton BEHRENS was born in 1839 in Detmold, Kreis Lippe, Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine Westphalia) Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,10 He emigrated in 1867 from Germany.2

He appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.3 (His household was next to that of his parents.) Anton appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.1 He died in 1888 at the age of 49.10,11

Obituary Notes: "Mr. Anton Behrens, a prominent citizen of Wilton and one of the early settlers of the county, died at his home on Sunday last." (The obituary is undated.) He was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.10 in the Wilton Hillside Cemetery.

Anton BEHRENS and Elisabeth Elise "Lizzie" NOTH were married.12,13 Elisabeth Elise "Lizzie" NOTH, daughter of Herman August Gottlieb NOTH and Wilhelmine Louisa STRATE, was born in April 1837 in Detmold, Kreis Lippe, Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine Westphalia) Province, Preussen (Prussia).1,3,10,13,14,15,16 (She was listed "Elise Noth" in the baptism records of her daughter Wilhelmine in 1868, as "Elizabeth" in the 1870 Census, and as "Lizzie" in 1880. The 1880 Census listed the birth place of her parents as "Lippe.") She emigrated in 1864 from Detmold, Kreis Lippe, Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine Westphalia) Province, Preussen (Prussia).13,14 (The 1900 Census listed her emigration year as 1860 and indicated that she had lived in America for 40 years.) She appeared in the census in 1870 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.3 Lizzie appeared in the census in 1880 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.1 She appeared in the census in 1900 in Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.14 She was living with her son-in-law Christian Hett and his new wife. She appeared in the census in 1910 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.17 She was living with her son-in-law, Chris Hett, and his family. Lizzie died in 1917 at the age of 80.10 She was buried in 1917 in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.10 in the Wilton Hillside Cemetery.
