20. Leona Eldora KEEN was born on 12 August 1912 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.^27,45,46 (Her surname was listed as "Kuehn" in the church notice of her marriage in its bulletin.) She appeared in the census in 1920 in Leon Township, Monroe County, WI.¹² She appeared in the census in 1930 in Wellington Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁰ Leona died on 9 April 2007 at the age of 94 in Elroy, Plymouth Township, Juneau County, WI.⁴⁶
Obituary Notes: "Leona E. Schindler, 94, of Wilton, died April 9, 2007, at Heritage Manor in Elroy. She was born Aug. 12, 1912, in the Township of Wellington to Rudolph and Frances Keen. She married Martin J. Schindler Sr. April 17, 1932, and they were blessed with five sons. She is survived by: three sons and two daughters-in-law, Martin John Jr. and Janice Schindler of Kendall, Lyle and Betsy Schindler of Hughes Springs, TX, and David Schindler of Costa Mesa, CA; one brother, Lyle Keen of Wilton; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, her parents and two sons, Norman and Thomas, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Schindler and her husband farmed in Black Valley before moving to Wilton in 1946. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton.

Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilton on Saturday, April 14, at 11 a.m. Pastor Ryan Fletcher will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Smith-Nelson Funeral Home, 702 Center St. in Wilton, on Friday from 4 until 8 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund in memory of Leona Schindler."

She was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁷ in the St. Paul's German Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Leona Eldora KEEN and Martin John SCHINDLER Sr. were married on 17 April 1932.^1,25,45,46 Martin John SCHINDLER Sr., son of Gustav Abraham SCHINDLER and Emma Hulda JESSE, was born on 28 June 1903 in Monroe County, WI.²⁷ He died in October 1972 at the age of 69.³ He was buried in Wilton, Wilton Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴⁷ in the St. Paul's German Lutheran Church Cemetery.
