Descendants of Wilhelm Friedrich "William" Kuhn, Sr.

Wilhelm Friedrich "William" Kuhn and his wife, Wilhelmine "Minnie" Schulz, are the earliest known ancestors of most of the Kuhn and some of the Keene family members in Monroe County. They were born in the early-1800's in Posen Province and emigrated to America with their three oldest children in 1857. After arriving in Wisconsin, they had another six children.

It is assumed, but not known for certain, that Wilhelm was related to August Friedrich Kuhn, who was also born in Posen Province. Most of August's descendants "Americanized" their surname to Keene or Keen. His descendants are detailed in another report on this website.
