(Her surname was spelled "Westpfahl" in the Marriage Registration Index.) She was baptized on 20 May 1877 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.¹³ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ Amelia was confirmed on 22 March 1891 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁶ at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ She appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³² Amelia died on 26 May 1972 at the age of 95.⁵⁰ She was buried on 29 May 1972 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.^50,65 at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Ida Emilie "Amelia" WESTPFAHL and Wilhelm Ferdinand "William" MATTHEWS were married on 13 February 1898 in Monroe County, WI.^14,24,39,54 Wilhelm Ferdinand "William" MATTHEWS, son of Friedrich "Wilhelm" MATTHEWS and Friederike "Wilhelmine" SCHEDLER, was born on 14 May 1866 in Granville, Milwaukee County, WI.^9,13,39,54 (His middle name may haved been "Friedrich.") He was Lutheran about 1895 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^8,67 He was listed in the Church Register as member number 81 of the first 100 members of the congregation of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church and was listed on the Memberbership Roster in 1900. William appeared in the census in 1920 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.¹⁷ He appeared in the census in 1930 in Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.³² He died on 13 December 1952 at the age of 86.^20,65 William was buried in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.⁶⁵ in the Oak Grove Cemetery.
