(According to the church death record, he was born in Kannenberg, Pommern Province.) He emigrated in June 1868 from Braunsberg, Naugard, Pommern (Pomerania) Province, Preussen (Prussia).^4,6 Between 1869 and 1887 he was a lumberman in New York Mills, Otter Tail County, MN.⁴ Christian appeared in the census in 1880 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.⁷ He was living with his daughter Amelia and her family. After 1887 he was a farmer in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.⁴ He was Lutheran before 1890 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^8,9 He was listed in the Memberbership Register of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Christian died on 21 November 1901 at the age of 81 in Adrian Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,3,4,5,10 He was buried on 24 November 1901 in Ridgeville Township, Monroe County, WI.^2,5 in the St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery.
