He died on 21 April 1908 at the age of 42 in Tomah, Tomah Township, Monroe County, WI.5,8,51,52,53

Newspaper Article: "David G. Medd of this city lost his life as the result of an accident Tuesday afternoon at Goodyear's saw mill, where he was employed. He was oiling the pulley which runs the edger when the pulley broke and cut the belt running upon it. Whether he was struck by the pulley or a section of the belt is not positively known, as he was killed almost instantly.

Mr. Medd has been unfortunate during his two years of employment at the mill, having lost an eye about a year ago and subsequently had one of his hands injured."

Newspaper Article: "The C. A Goodyear Lumber Co. has effected a settlement in the death of David Medd, who was killed in the saw mill April 21. The amount is said to be $2,500."

After settling all claims in the case, Mr. Rowlands, the manager of the company, this week turned over to Mrs. Medd a life lease on a new residence valued at $2,500, together will fuel for heating it."

David G. MEDD and Eliza J. "Lida" KINNEY were married on 25 September 1889 in Monroe County, WI.5,16 (Her surname is listed as "Kenny" in the marriage registration records.) Eliza J. "Lida" KINNEY, daughter of Edward KINNEY and Josephine PARKS, was born on 2 August 1869 in Wisconsin.48,49,50 Her given name was listed as "Eliza J." in the 1870 Census, but she was commonly known as "Lida")

She was never officially adopted. She just lived with them, but it is not known why.
